I love Guinness

One of the perks at my job as a Communication's specialist, is that every friday we get a small treat in the morning and a big one in the afternoon. Fridays are carb days, with donuts in the a.m. and beer in the p.m. which makes it a great way to finish the week.

Whoever the blessed soul is who stocks our beer fridge at work made a great decision, and bought Guinness. I love Guinness, and I think it has a lot to do with some great associations I have with the beer.

The first thing that comes to mind when I think of Guinness is my best buddy Max, who also loves Guinness. About five years ago, Max and I did a snowboard trip together, putting Guinness in our coats in the morning, leaving them in the snow for the day, and on the last run waiting behind on the top of the mountain to consume the delicious brews.

I remember we repeatedly said : "man, this is awesome... oh man... this is great."

Guinness on top of a mountain? Pier Giorgio Frassati would be proud.

An interesting thing about stout beer (Guinness is a stout for those of you who didn't know) is that it was originally brewed by monks (Benedictine I believe) to encourage moderation. It is just about impossible to have more than two or three stout beers - which is what you should be having regardless.

Anyways, drink Guinness, enjoy life, and bring your best friend along with you.
