So, I was looking through photos of my girlfriend (Melissa) and came across this one. She was speaking at Cornerstone, sharing her faith journey with a crowd of people at St. Mary's Church in Vancouver.
I sat at the back with my dorky camera with it's huge zoom lens gleefully snapping photos of the cute blonde that was speaking up front.
I was so proud of her! I kept thinking to myself, 'what a lucky guy I am' and I'm sure there were a number of people who felt the same way ;).
Anyways, I just thought I would take a few minutes to break from work and gush over Melissa. Hopefully it isn't making you too sick to your stomach :). If gushing makes you queasy, please don't read the next sentence:
I love you shmoopy boo!

I love Guinness
One of the perks at my job as a Communication's specialist, is that every friday we get a small treat in the morning and a big one in the afternoon. Fridays are carb days, with donuts in the a.m. and beer in the p.m. which makes it a great way to finish the week.
Whoever the blessed soul is who stocks our beer fridge at work made a great decision, and bought Guinness. I love Guinness, and I think it has a lot to do with some great associations I have with the beer.
The first thing that comes to mind when I think of Guinness is my best buddy Max, who also loves Guinness. About five years ago, Max and I did a snowboard trip together, putting Guinness in our coats in the morning, leaving them in the snow for the day, and on the last run waiting behind on the top of the mountain to consume the delicious brews.
I remember we repeatedly said : "man, this is awesome... oh man... this is great."
Guinness on top of a mountain? Pier Giorgio Frassati would be proud.
An interesting thing about stout beer (Guinness is a stout for those of you who didn't know) is that it was originally brewed by monks (Benedictine I believe) to encourage moderation. It is just about impossible to have more than two or three stout beers - which is what you should be having regardless.
Anyways, drink Guinness, enjoy life, and bring your best friend along with you.

Moving is a pain
So, I finally moved on the weekend with two of my buddies to a huge new house in Coquitlam. It's a great place with five bedrooms, a huge garage, and a deck to end all decks. Now that we're in there, but the process to get in... well... was painful.
It's pretty easy to forget how much stuff you have until you start loading it up into a truck. It's like, holy cow, where did it all come from? I was thinking to myself the other day how it would be so freeing to be like St. Francis of Assisi, who handed his dad his clothes and ran off naked.
I think I got to that point, but if I ran off naked I would have been arrested, so I didn't do it.
"But officer, I wasn't trying to be indecent, I was just being detatched from my bicast leather sectional sofa."
Anyways, I'm going to take pictures of the place when it's ready. It's still a bit of a disaster, but we're fixing that slowly but surely.

On a whim
Prior to a couple of days ago, I really hadn't considered doing a blog. This posting is completely on a whim, I know that I should be in bed, but I'm staying up waxing poetic in my basement with a glass of Coke in my hand at 11:30.
My mother would be horrified.
But hey, I'm a communicator. I have to communicate. I have a communications degree, what else am I supposed to do?
I know that I have the penchant for being random, and totally impulsive. The first person to point that out to me was a priest that I used to go to for confession (Father Rick Gagnon, now BISHOP Gagnon - he was awesome). I can't remember what I said, but it was probably some hairbrained idea that I had... and he's like "you're IMPUSLIVE"
Touche Bishop Gagnon.
This is a perfect example of my impulsiveness. This blog is a whim. But it's a fun whim.
Now that I'm typing out my thoughts, I think this blog should be fun. I want to share my life with people, my thoughts with them, make them laugh, but above and beyond that, share with everyone the abundant blessings that God has poured out in my life.
I'll try and update this regularly. If I don't, please complain. I also promise to post photos.
